Hi, the time has Unfortunantly come to pass on my much loved but rarely used Mary Jane. I bought the van back in 2008 from a very good friend, the intention was to do a quick tidy up and escape at each and every opertunity, this was possibly my first mistake, I knew the day I bought her that she had huge potential and with a lot of love, cash and probably much more effort it would be only a matter of time before I restored her fully. I basically started as I meant to continue- Genuine vw front callipers Braided brake lines All new copper pipes 4x Balljoints Anti roll bar fitting kit Creative engineering 'weedeater' front beam, custom made as I wanted non narrowed All new uprated a shock absorbers New rear wheel cylinders New shoes 2x new heads Mahle 1641 barrel and Piston Upgrade, Rebuilt carb Service items. Rebuilt Alternator Clutch Cable Whilst everything was apart i re applied a layer of Dinitrols finest to the complete underside, tbh it was already heavily waxed with what looked like Dinitrol so I just Re covered. She is very very good underneath, which is the whole reason I forced myself to buy her, nI have spent plenty of time under there and from what I can see there has been a repair to the one sill and some small patches to the cab floor, this was obviously previous to the continuing resto. So we camped, it rained, we got soaked, the kids hated it, it was small, it was slow, it was spoilt by The good a old British weather!!! So when we got back I decided we would get it all done properly, the list continued- 2x dry State Cab doors Decklid Repaired the lower sliding door Front Panel Complete Arch/step n/s Outer arch o/s Genuine Vw window rubbers, all of them.. 2x Cab door seals Window slider Chrome mirrors Complete set of Pop top rubbers Pop top canvas Newbury carpet set Heat Exchangers RS Cosworth Black Recaro Seats Mdf Interior Panels re trimmed to match existing cupboards. Full re spray in what was supposedly the original colour, the Orange however looks much brighter to me, I am Colour blind though, and I also had the top half changed to white as I PREFFERED the two tone to the original, I did however use again an original paint code. So why am I selling, I love this van, but it has been a labour of love, it has seen numerous house moves and relationships, and tbh on first purchase it was what the mother of my son wanted so badly, I was happy with the Beach buggy we had in all honesty, I have promised my son we will buy something else in the near future too, but at the moment, I need a new kitchen Ffs, and the Main and final reason is she will not fit in my garage. She has been garaged since the day I bought her, only spending time out for the few months at the paint shop, she has just had a full timing and tune up service with plugs/points/rotor arm. PLEASE NOTE- she has been used, she does have the odd scratch, there are always going to be things needing doing, at present I am fitting a head unit, rigging up the sink drainage, arranging a quick trip back to the paint shop for a touch up that was somehow missed on initial paint, and I have just re waxed 3/4 of her, and I need to do the last 1/4, the wheels are cheapy MWS crap!!! I think that's it, I have probably forgot loads. NO PART/Ex or Swaps, I have enough to do already I'm afraid UK only, I don't except Dratmas etc Price is £14500 Ono I am in No rush what so ever to sell, she can Sit snuggly in the Garage she has become accustomed to until she does sell. Any Questions/Queries welcome Van is based in Coleford Glos, will be Sold with 12 months mot Thanx for reading my Somewhat Long Advert, if anything I hope it shows my enthusiasm towards her. i'll give you the entire contents of my work bag plus a pot noodle - it's chilli beef if that helps sweeten the deal? like bern says more pic's and if i were buying (while i'm not doubting your work) i'd want to see pic's and detail of the repairs done - it's very easy to hide bad work under shiny paint and let some poor soul find it 2 years later when the bubbles start coming through. good luck with the sale anyway.
Yeah I know what you men, cheers guys, your advise is noted, and appreciated, she was painted 2 years ago, loads of photos, sadly not many repair photos as there want many repairs. I think my Ad maybe needs a bit more depth, thanx again, will update ASAP.
