If you're going to keep mending it, maybe you have the wrong bus?

  2. Nope, definitive the right bus.
I just want it to look the way I want, but I also want it water tight!

    Looks wise I'm there.

Just need to plug some holes...

  3. The joys of being in the RAF, free labour! Had one of my lads fitting the sliding door seal.

  4. You are making gains, each small project brings you closer to the "end game" Looking good.

  5. Cheers, I'm really happy with how the bumpers look. Needs a wash though....

  6. Looks great but the cockpit's the best part.
Made me think of this speedometer I saw in JC Whitney. Thought it might compliment that wonderful dash.[IMG]
Say, the photo where the bus was shot from above,... did you use a tilt-shift lens or do they have a digital ap for that now?

  7. CRAP! There's an app for that?! I've been doing these by hand! They take ages too. Grrrrr
It's a dark day when talent becomes obsolete.[IMG]

  8. Yep, that photo was done with a tilt-shift app.
    That is a nice speedometer.
The van design app is cool-flo's app called bus generator I think there's also a beetle generator too.
I like add that I can draw too, but I agree that talent could suffer with these things. I like your art work there.

What if it's raining and you fancy a beer?

  15. I have one on the inside too...

  16. More interesting bodging.

Wired up the bumper indicators and all working nicely.

  17. I think this one would look grat with the big vw badge ,,just sayin' :)

  18. I did have a small late bay style badge on (as you can see in other photos) but it fell off. I think I like it without...

  19. Look what I'm up to again...

Pesky oil leek from the engine to gear box joint. Both seals on order.

Sounds like it's not the first time you've had to replace the flywheel seal?

When you get the flywheel off, check it for a rough line or groove where the seal is supposed to seal against it. Obviously there shouldn't be one. Then before removing the seal note how far in it's pushed. Technically it should be right in against a shoulder. You a few choices if there is a groove/roughness.
    Replace the flywheel
Have the flywheel machined down to next available seal size - google "rotating shaft seal"
Have roughness polished out it it's not too bad and use standard seal
Atempt to fit the seal about 2mm further out.
Last not recomended as it might fall out, but the genuine VW black seals are the tightest fit if you want to risk this.

Also check your end float before you remove the flywheel - lots of endfloat does cause the seals to fail more quickly.
