1973 tax exempt from April 2014?

so i have been hearing alot about this tax ex is going to be pushed to 1st Jan 1974.....making 1973 vehicles tax exempt from April next year....having a 1973 myself i am a little excited but am still not counting my chickens

Ah, found it in the full text of the Budget statement on the Treasury Website. Look for VED (Vehicle Excise Duty)

2.148 VED: classic vehicle exemption – The Government will extend the cut off date
from which classic vehicles are exempt from VED by one year. From 1 April 2014 a vehicle
manufactured before 1 January 1974 will be exempt from paying VED. (Finance Bill 2014)
