175r14c vs 185r14c

  1. Hi just got hold of some nice set of white steel wheels with a newly new set of hankook Ra08.

    The only issue is that the tyres are 175R14c instead of the std 185, do you think it is going to be a problem with using these tyres?

    slower top speed and more RPM

    Cant see it making much of a change a bit less grip but also should be a bit better in the snow

    are they van rated? they are 10mm thinner i would guess the profile is 80 on both? so maybe marginal height difference.
     
  5. Yes I believe so, load rating are 98/99 compared with 100/102 on the 185
    I think this gives 750kg per tyre so 3000 kg overall.
    I hope my calculation is correct?
