I was going to fit a monza 4 tip on Gladys but i think it will foul on her bumper - Has anyone used the same exhaust and had a same problem ??
Honestly dude please dont They are awfull exhausts and your bus doesent deserve something that will rust up within a few weeks There was the same exhaust as mine on ebay the other day where someone had chopped the long tailpipe off and welded two pipes on the outlets instead and i liked what they had done It was at about £20 i think and was all stainless steel that would come up lovely with a little compound and a polishing mop I can see if i can find the ebay one tmw for you if you like?
If you can find an old one they're ok I think - Baysearcher has had one on his for years and it still looks good. Possibly it'll be up for sale when he scooby's his bus, but with the waiting list at fellows that's going to be a while. Para, the welding and fabrication subsequently done on that Ebay one was awful with the pipes pointing all wonky. You'd have to redo it!
i wa going to fit the monza 4 tip on mine that came with my engine... until i realized its rusted into a pointless lump that looks like its been hit with a shotgun...
Tape some bubble warp or a blanket to your bumper and trial fit it dude They look nice but there cheap for a reason and the one i fitted to my bus the chrome rusted up after two days of rain and the bus not moving Nice magazine piece about gladys the other day dude
the engine is still out bud - i may cut the tips off and put two short 90 degree bends on tuck it behind the bumper
Have seen them on a 73. But the guy wanted it off. As rusted after a year. It did fit and does look good I think. But these do not get good reviews from most. Stick with stock I think but if not it should be ok. I will take a snap of one at the ace cafe as there is a guy with one and post it if I remember the thread.
Mines been on for atleast 8 years (was on when I bought it) and is as good as the day it was fitted. Cheap copies = crap Originals = quality.
Mine has a beetle exhaust so the pipes are pretty small but it gives you an idea of what it would look like with larger bore pipes welded in:
