Hi guys, i have this engine for sale, i have it on ebay listed for £600, but happy to give a generous late bay discount if anyone here wants it, its easier if i use the text from the ad so here it is below: Up for sale today we have a pretty much complete turn key 1600 air cooled engine removed from a 1976 VW type 2 bay window camper. I bought this for my panel van project as a complete running engine around 5 months ago, but a change of plans now means its up for sale again.It was removed from a 1976 camper van that had had a front end smash, it was apparently running spot on when removed and looking at the case it has a new engine number plate on the alternator pedestal so must have been a replacement at some stage. It turns over free as a bird and the end float is nothing to talk about. It has sat in a shed for a year or two before i got my hands on it, hence its appearance. But that said, with a bit of love, it should just pop in and go.As you can see from the picture the pre heat pipe has rusted through so would need replacing ideally, and the heat exchangers have seen better days as has some of the tin ware etc. It comes with everything you see in the picture, including the flywheel and the clutch.I bought this in very good faith that it was a good running engine, and the guy i got it from is not going to sell me a dud, but that said please note that i have not seen or heard it running and cannot offer any guarantee that there is nothing wrong with it, it turns over very freely as i said and the oil is not too disgusting - whats the worst that could happen! shall we say £500 for any late bay member? happy for you to come on over and have a look at it before you part with your cash located at vwbusbits, unit 14h Hybris business park, crossways, dorset.
