15x112 Cosmic Wheel TUV Certificate

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Oxide Devil, Oct 9, 2013.

  1. Hi All,
does anyone have a copy of a TUV certificate for a set of Cosmic wheels?

I dont want to buy a new set just for a certificate. I asked Heritage and they said "only when you buy new".

I need one for my insurance company. They say that they would like to see the TUV certificate or wheel documentation before they will fully insure the van with them on it.

Can anyone help me out please?

    Thanks

    Never heard of that before!

@Robo has recently had some fitted on his bus.

  3. It is a certificate that comes with these wheels, just to say that they were tested by a test institute.

  4. I think thats the idea of TUV. Traceability. So, every set should have serial number/s thats the same on the cert.

Are you in Germany by chance?

  6. I think so. I believe that every set of Cosmics acomes with this certificate, so was hoping someone here might have bought a set and help me out with a copy.

  13. I sure did buy a set through T2D not that long ago but I didn't receive any certificates???

  14. Thanks for the feedback Robo.

The reason I ask is, my insurance company asked me for information regarding my wheels and tyre selection as I have a classic car policy and we all know what insurance companies are like when we do not mention every little sticker in the window. That means to them "A HA, we don`t have to pay now" when something goes wrong.

Anyway, I was talking to a guy at the V.World show and he said to me that a few wheels these days (cosmics, gas burners and something else) come with a certificate that has all the information on it. So, I looked on the internet and found that Heritage sold these wheels with a TUV certificate (what ever that is?). I emailed Heritage and asked if I could have a copy but the very nice Lady wrote "I understand your predicament with your insurance company, but you only get the certificate when you buy new wheels from us". I bought mine 2nd hand, so, I was hoping to save a load of aggro with the insurance company and see if any of you guys had a copy of this certificate lying around.

If not, i will sell the bloody things and a get a set of BRMĀ“s that I liked the look of better to start with! Insurance Companies - whoed have emmm?

  15. It will likely be a type test certificate and should be available from the wheel manufacturer - maybe even on their web site.

What insurance company is it? I've never heard the need for a TUV?

  17. That is a good idea about the wheel manufacturer. Anyone knows who makes Cosmics? When I asked Heritage they said it was somewhere in Asia.

The insurance company is not asking for a TUV certificate, as I said, a guy at the V.World show told me about this TUV thing. He said that all the information that the insurance company would want is on this certificate because the wheels had been tested and approved at some institute, which I am guessing is TUV. Are they a test institute or something?

  18. I've dropped an email to T2D asking if they have the certificate issued for the wheels, I don't reckon they will have but worth a try :)

  19. A bloke told you.....! but you said "They say that they would like to see the TUV certificate" . Why not ask the insurance compeny what they actually want and if you dont have it then tell them so. Ive never had this issue with my Empis and I guess its because youve valued them over a certain amount.
