  1. I know the is the latebay..but alot of people have both! i have a 1303 and the windscreen willl not go back in! (curved type) Ivee tried seating the bottom in place and using the sting method but when i get to top corners the top is just so high.. Alot of people are saying try and get the middle in line top and bottom and go from there?

    anyone had any experience?

  2. I got a man in for my mini this time, last time I broke the glass getting the top corner in and had to buy another, I tried and it looked to be going the same way so for an extra few quid I got it fitted. I paid £70 for front and back fitted sealed and chrome trim put in

  3. You need to check around the back, it's a common mistake that I've seen many times.
Make sure your bug actually says '1303' on the engine lid, those screens are a really tight fit on the earlier models.

A trick I picked up from a windscreen fitter once is to put a loop in your cord on both sides as well as top and bottom.. works well on curved screens.

Plonk the screen in, make sure it's central, and both top and bottom are nearly touching the lip. Pull about 6 inches over the bottom, then do the same at the top. Get out the car and apply pressure to the areas you have just pulled. Back in the car, do 6 inches the other side bottom, and then the same at the top.. apply pressure again... If the sides are now suitably close to the lip, do them. Repeat till all the rubber is over the lip, get out and push the screen into place.
