  1. 1.6 twin port with dual webbers, good compression, well maintained. what would be the expected comfortable cruising speed on the motorway.

    60?

  2. 55 - 60, I'd say...about 3750RPM. You can hear it's happy.

I used to sit at 70 in mine but that was probably working it a bit too had. 60 should be no problem although it's obviously dependant on your tyre sizes, cooling and gearbox.

  4. I'd expect it to do 90.

My life is a constant series of disappointments.

  5. I normally toottle along at 55/60 but has been wizzed upto 70 when passing trucks going downhill at just over 4000rpm and my fingers in my ears......................

  6. LOL ditto. Mine will sit at 100kph all day long and with twin carbs still gives me a good boost to overtake the slower vehicles.

100 gps kph /62mph is comfortable on my setup. 110kph/69 mph is pushing the engine into using the added oil cooler or too hot without it.

  10. I think the sensible approach is best. 55/60 mph is about right. Faster means stressing the engine and drinking the fuel.

I think going as fast as the engine will stand is the sensible approach. :D

Seriously though from my experience too I agree with 62mph for stock 1600 happiness.
