1.6 rear engine tin

Hi I need the rear engine tin for my 1975 1600cc panel but having seen the price of them new and a few used ones at extortionate prices I was wondering if it would be possible to adapt a beetle one to fit . has any one done this or asm I on my own in being tight fisted ??

Rear tin £179 !

 

Mine is bit cracked and rusty but I'll make do if they are £179

Thanks for the replies guys , I went on eBay after being on here and got one for £40 . fingers crossed its OK when it arrives .
