We leave our van every year in a cruise carpark every year when we go on a cruise - Venice, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam. Never had a problem with insurance but then never thought to check . .
Good evening all I contacted the insurance and they spoke with the underwriters and surprise surprise they have agreed at an additional premium (not much) that I can leave it in a secure car park when i leave the country so thanks for your suggestions and advice looks like the European tour is back on lol
I would check because they kept saying to me i was covered as long as i was with the van but i was telling them even when i am away i don't spend 24/7 in the van and it is often left all day parked at the side of a beach or if i go on a tour etc. but that seemed to be ok it was only if i left the country it was parked in???? All very strange
Just stay away from Italy and the van won't go missing . Lovely country , unfortunately full of thieving scum who seize any opportunity and lazy police who don't give a sh!!! ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Sounds like you speak from some experience you had here. Yes the police are lazy ( and thick apparently) The thieving scum you mention are mostly politicians and government workers.
Only problems / thefts i`ve ever had have been in Italy , i hate to generalise but personally avoid the place if at all possible . Try wildcamping in Italy and expect the locals to inform local plod who`ll pay a visit to move you on - usually with a massive attitude and waving a gun in your face Obviously the cities are worse .... That said , gorgeous countryside !!
Good advice, i will check. This year my son is taking the van from me in Venice and doing a tour of Italy. So no need to park it this time. Thanks anyway for the heads up.
