Barnsley Market

  1. Knowing there are members from Barnsley on this site but how many others have actually visited Barnsley Market.
We went to visit my brother recently in hospital and on the way in visited the market.
Now I remember the market when it was on m
May Day Green and on Cheapside with trams rumbling by but now it is all undercover and the building being revamped.
But when you walk into the meat and fish area even a vegan would be tempted by a barnsley chop or the black pudding.
Sorry I don't have any pictures but it is a great place to visit good food well presented at good prices and everyone is called love, ta love , cheers live, by love it's great

I think that's a photo of southern refugees attempting to get permits to live in Barnsley.

I Went to the Barnsley Market today, it was interesting to say least, no cars, no mobiles, no coffee shops or Waitrose, but lovely people, I took a photo with my phone, a crowd gathered around me staring at my iPhone it was obvious that they hadn’t seen a mobile before, I spend the day there, then caught a horse and cart taxi to the station where I caught a steam train back to London
