Painting the engine tin

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by normuk, Jan 30, 2016.

  1. Just putting our 76 conversion back together again following full resto.

Thought it would be nice to tidy up the engine tin but have heard that even heat resistant paint can flake off.

    Ideas anyone? image.jpeg

I use normal Hammerite. If heat resistant paint flakes off it either hasn’t been applied properly or the engine is overheating.

  16. i looked at painting it

but with degreasing it , sanding it , primer and topcoat

powder coating seem like good value for money
