Excellent work!!! I started on your last page and have just read the whole lot. How exciting/pleasing/proud will that be to have pretty much made the van yourself! I love seeing the parts you've made and wish I could have such a skill. We had a camper in Spain that was a bit rusty and the local garage fabricated the parts. In fact when I even bought the bulgy bit that goes under the windscreen back from the uk the guy refused to use and made his own! Brilliant thread. I would imagine your mrs likes vans too as she must forget what you look like!
I wish she only let's me play at the weekend plus I have a very special little girl to play with through the week and she's my no 1 then the van ha ha .
......updates have been slow of late, have you got it painted yet? this thread has been an epic battle with the tin worm ....and we need updates
No not painted yet been busy with family and so but going to have a good push on through winter to be ready for a summer tour
glad to hear it I've had a few slow patches with my van, sometimes its hard to get the motivation, and I've read a few resto's on here that seem to stop dead in their tracks.....so I'm glad to hear your still on it!!
I will keep the updates coming thick and fast when I get going about two weeks when I'm free And FINSH Spraying The Miss Car After Rebuilding The engine
Bout time Im resting just now, youll overtake me again... but hopefully well get on the road about the same time Im looking to summer 2016... fingers crossed...
I'd best get rubbing and filling then as your cheating buy sending it to a paint shop........... Only joking looking forward to the paint pics keep up the good work looking good
True My original plan was to personally do everything like my last project where I made everything from scratch, chassis, wishbones, bushes, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold etc etc! But then I decided life's to short for sanding filler and making temporary spray booths out of 2 x 2 and plastic sheet! I'm just going to be cleaning and overhauling all the bits ready for it coming back, then it's the best part, putting it all back together.
O my god I thought over Christmas I'd get the painting done but never happened so busy with other stuff .so I finally got to start again so been busy doing some more priming after a some filler work [/URL] and finshed the rear inside panels at the back after replacing the rear quarters so now hoping to crack on and get her done for the summer
This weekend I should have a couple more but most of the work is just rubbing and priming the boring bit
Ok just for you I know it's a bit boring but I made a hatch for the fuel sender the cut a piece of the old roof from fitting the devon top folded it in the folder Then cut some strips and welded it all together and wallah Fitted it to the hole in the van that's it back to some filling and the da the inside down ready for some primer and top coat will post some more pics as I do the inside
