Thanks Para, under light fitted and when funds allow I'm going to have the foams cut smaller and covered like my front seats

 

Redid the bracket so it was matching either side then fixed to each wheel arch with bed central. Frame screwed to floor.

 

Ive started to paint the underside then ran out of paint

My bay has another bit of chassis on each side running diagonally between the main chassis rail and the A arm mount. Did VW not bother with them in the late 70's?

Will you be putting stone chip or under seal on top or is that the topcoat?

 

Hammerite underbody seal with added waxoyl will be sprayed over the top bob

I removed them

Im cavity waxing the inside of panels etc aswell
All in the hope of keeping the rust at bay for a decent length of time

Looks like your clutch cable stuck in there!

 

Bump stop catch plate... they're only held on with about 3 spot welds... Really not unusual for them to be missing

Accelerator and clutch cable were shoved there out of the way whilst i painted

Being as picky as i am i think im going to get one and weld it back on
