if you can do the bus in 2 k then i would , i was going to but due to were i live i carnt so roller paint is the way ive got 5lts of jet black 2k im not useing i was going to spray all my parts in
Have you tried rollering the 2K? I bet it would be pretty good as it brush paints quite nicely. Dries a damn site faster than rustoleum and you could do 2 coats in a day/weekend I'd guess. You're right not to spray it at home - the overspray stays wet much longer than celly and sticks like x to a y.
ive rolled 2k high build primer and it melted the roller too ,got a few coats on but did not last long . have hand painted 2k as well turned out nice . i may use the black ive got in the shed and mix the hardener with it and just brush paint my parts got to be better than nothing
if it melts the roller wouldnt it leave bits of roller in the paint on the side of the bus? Just looking at the bits I painted at the weekend and I've noticed there are little air bubbles on the surface of the paint which have poped but left little marks. Not really noticeable, and TBH not something I'm going to loose sleep over - any tips on hand painting to aviod this in future? .....I think they were bubbles in the paint from when I stirred it (probably too vigerously :)
i get bubbles when roller painting but i go over them and they pop or i leave them to fin out depends on the paint too painting by brush i found was ok but i was putting paint strait out the tin on to the parts then going over with a little white spirt to give a nice shine can be messy thow
Yup they have got trapped whilst stirring the paint dude Stir and fold the paint slowly with a spoon If you do get little bubbles on the surface a light sweep over with the tip of the brush should drive them out
Just bought some Rustoleum - in Pastel White pre-mixed - 5 mins on the blower to Avenue Paints and all good.
dusty ....but then my bus is still off the road so it hasnt really been tested the bumper irons I didnt etch have got a few chips where they have been chcked around in cupboards etc ....but the paint was quite thick ....the other bits that have been fitted or not chucked around still look good .....but as I say, they have not been out in the elements yet ask me again in another year and a half
