  1. The jetta is an 08, the spare rim i picked up yesterday was off an 07 passat, from what i can gather off the tinterweb all 16inch are 5x112

The bora was based on the mk4 golf which is defo 5x100 as i had some mk4 wheels on my mk3 golf

  2. rickyrooo1

rickyrooo1 Hanging round like a bad smell

    that's me told then.

  3. I have just been and measured the wheels again, as you got me a bit worried, they definitely are 5x112

 i think Birdy did a space saver from an audi

  5. Yeah audi is the same, once i get the wheel back i can start working out what offset i need

  6. Rjes are Stoke area I think..If so, local as well.. Just wondering which is best. As far as I can tell with the rjes you can use the subaru flywheel..And there seems to be a big price difference?

  7. Well blow me, i never knew that, they're about 20 mins away
Will have to go and see them and have a nose at their stuff

  8. I had a chat with rjes at stafford show.. The bell housing he was selling was £370 and was told I could use the subaru flywheel.. Talked to fellows as well.. Their adapter plate needs their flywheel and might cost a bit more?

  9. I think the fellows plate and flywheel come in at £500, doesn't the rjs require some work to rear gearbox mounting
No doubt both set ups have pro and cons it's just finding what suits best

  10. From what I understand the rjes is a bolt on.. Ready to go.. Check it out and let me know what you think?
I had a look at fellows site and if I am right their charging £550+vat=£660 for the adapter and flywheel set up.. Please check as I might have misread it?.. (£290 difference?)

What gear box are you going to use?

  11. I'm off next week so will have a run and a chat
Just had a look on the fellows website your right 660 notes, it is a big difference

As for the gearbox, mines the 1600 3 rib, on the look out for a 6 rib tho at the right money

  12. Again.. Check it out but I'm sure rjes welcome visitors but by appointment only..
The 6 rib 091 gearbox is rare as rocking horse stuff.. I've seen three on ebay recently..One sold buy it now for £550 another went to auction and sold for £562,The third I just bought.

  13. I've just mailed him, I'll let you know how i get on

I was hoping to get a box a bit cheaper than that but no joy, i think I'll lust have to get the next 1 that comes available

  14. The one I bought was a buy it now.. £250. I hit the buy it now button so hard I nearly broke the keyboard. lol

  15. Thats a good buy:thumbsup:

  16. I search ebay every day.. If I see another I'll message you.

  17. So i've had my test 16 inch steel back from stafford engineering, it wasn't a cheap do get the wheel hub re-drilled to 70mm bore instead of 57mm but they did a quality job

It fits fine over the hub nut etc, the nuts tighten up and centralise the wheel spot on but i will need to get longer wheel studs
    Are they available?

  18. Some pics of the rim fitted on the front
With an offset of ET42 and 7j wide, it means that all the extra width is mainly gained on the inside

From the back everything is cleared
    [IMG]

When locked over to the left everything is fine with plenty of room
    [IMG]

    And the other way
everything is still cleared by the rim but i might have issues with a tyre fitted
    [IMG]

So i really could do with with the vw rim that is a 6 1/2j rim with an offset of ET42 which should give me an extra 10mm ish room on the inside

  19. and the back end

I've got a good 10mm between the rim and the spring plate, so all is good there but we try and get 4 rims the same if i can

  20. If you'd have used a mercedes wheel instead of VW/audi then the centre bore is 66.6mm so would fit over the hub nut. ;)
The 6.5" wide rim off a vito or C class has a 40mm offset i think.

Some merc wheels (off the smaller mercs i think) came with 12mm bolts not 14mm though so they'd need drilling out and different nuts using.
