me too, theres some cracking looking engines there, dont think mine is goin to look quite as good some how
I have thought about powder coating, but dont think it has the shine of paint, and I hate seeing old powder coating that is peeling
If I can stop mine type 4 breathing quite so heavily then it'll look quite tidy, just ordered a breather kit so hoping that will ease the oil blowing from my filler tube connection, my breather filter is a little blocked at the moment
Cleaned sanded and painted engine bay degreased engine got all tinware powder coated and sprayed a few bits from this to this
If it's peeling, it hasn't been done right... They guy I use isn't cheap, but he does a blinding job!! You can scratch it down to the metal, but you can't get it to de-laminate!!
My engine... I'm going through it at the moment (when I have the spare time) just upping the spec on parts to my own in house produced parts...
thats a fair point there is a place near me that is expensive but they guarantee it for 14yrs apparently they use architectural rade?
Pass... I've not gone into the ins and outs of available powders, but hazarding a guess, it might be a UV stable system...
Wow I like the photo above Mini_Bungle did you remove the entire engine to get it looking this good. I want to clean up my engine bay but have never removed the engine in the bus. Yours looks awesome have you done a thread on this at all.
Should the barrels/fins be painted at all??? Surely they need to be bare metal to best get rid of the heat???
