for those of you who do not have me on farcebook or reduse to use it.... bella is currently in 2 pieces cryyyy but hopefully be back together soon and much better for it... bella before...
Ruddy hell those seats look a bit slimline..not sure on the nails though In the first pic, Bella looks really tidy, keep the pics coming though!
as with campers she looked lovely until you start messing haha the battery was held in by an extremely thin bit of fibreglass ssurrounded by rot n rust.... all around the bottom is just rust...will keep em coming haha oh yeh the seats are a new design.. super comfy and safe x
It looks awful when they're stripped out like that. When Wilma was being done, John sent this email, Dear Julie and Moira Me and the boys have been having a chat about Wilma and we have decided she is like one of the girls on a dating site - looks nice in the picture but when you meet her and start taking off her outer layers, she's pretty rough underneath cheers john Love John, he's a brilliant mechanic and has got a great sense of humour, plus he's easily bribed with cake
haha that is brilliant! poor wilma haha she had a good layer of slap on to cover up the roughness...alot like my girls...haha be much better when bella is all pretty and fresh faced again ! haha my guy paul has a good sense of humour, havent tried the cake bribe yet hahaha x
It's amazing what a fiver's worth of cheap biscuits can get you! And make them a cake and that's it priority treatment forever! Can we come in next week when you are made busy because we need something doing to Wilma? Of course, what cake are you bringing
loving the cake bribe..... i cant bake v well but i can decorate haha maybe i will buy a pretty one or a big box of krispy kremes
got a quote of just over a grand to get everything sorted...all welding, parts, heater channels floors, engine sorting.... not bad...leaves me with a bit for a paint job at a later date too apparently its that cheap just because its me 72wilma dont even need cake...bonus! xxx
Ooooo she's a lovely Beetle! I'm currently coveting one myself even though I know it's madness. I have a perfectly good Peugeot 307 that we just recently bought but am seriously considering sticking it back on Auto Trader and buying a tax exempt bug! If I'd had the money I'd have snapped up Lowie's one for sale on here but sadly missed out
Cant wait to see it finished hun Id love to restore a beetle one day and love the fact the shell lifts of the floorpan
I'd say count yourself lucky it's not a proper convertible (Karmann bug) as you'd need to triple that!! Just out of interest, has she got extra strengtheners added to the bottom of the sills/edge of chassis? As she really needs it as the roof has been removed!!
A mate of mine had a chopped beetle at school. It had no added strengtheners and it gradually folded itself in half!
Exactly!! My Karmann when I did a resto on it a few years back... When it was all done (colour/finish wasn't my choice.. was the new owners)
Yep I'm pretty sure it has I'll double check though... this guy knows what he's doing as like I say he built Molly back up pretty much from scratch... thanks for the advice though Paul xxx
