the lite steer system has a gps speed controller, it’s a minor addition but has a big impact of the ease and usability of the system , the welding on that eBay thing is terrible as is the execution bit its chirpy chirpy cheep cheep, still not cheap enough for me to fit or recommend, the lite steer is in a different solar system in Comparison
The installation video on their site shows a speed sensor fitted to the speedo cable. Is that now not necessary? Ie speed is off the gps?
When litesteer first offered them they were similarly poor, that’s what prompted me to make one. Agree they’re better now but they had to start too!
Well… The way I see it, is that you buy one of these antiquated vehicle because it is what it is and you buy into the Aircooled vw heavy steering, slow on hills, dangerous in a crash, because you like it., and that’s what you want. Now the steering can be improved, different engines can be put in them, all sorts of ‘modern’ stuff can be put in them to make your driving experience better, or however you want to put it. It’s then not what it’s supposed to be. If it becomes that hard to drive, becuase of age/illness, whatever the reason. Buy something more modern and easier on yourself. If it gets to the stage when I can’t drive it anymore, I’ll sell it. ( I think I work on mine more, than drive it, anyway, as I like working on it, but I’m in no rush… Simple.
There is also a pressure sensitive option from Slaughter House Customs, which I’m going to go for on my T25 https://www.slaughterhousecustoms.c...ng-corsa-b-c-epas-automatic-controller-wiring
Or..... You like the way it looks, you like having and using one, you like the people you meet having and using it, your attached to it because you've had it for years, you drive a common eurobox everyday and you like something different. But you just happen to have a bad back/shoulder/neck/arm through an accident/old age/general wear and tear on you body. So you fit power steering to help you perpetuate your hobby/interest/holidays. Kind of in the same way that someone who has limited mobility but enjoys walking might use an aid, like a walking pole to assist them in continuing to do something they enjoy. Horses for courses eh?
