I fitted the ebay kit to my t25, about 5yrs ago, it's been faultless makes parking a doddle, I even put a smaller steering wheel in as you don't the huge t25 original one , mine has the adjustment knob set at 1/2 way , fine at 60mph and fine 10mph, all good , Some kits use a tone ring and abs sensor to alter the sensitivity
I had lite steer fitted by DubTricks near Harrogate a few years ago. The intention was to encourage my wife to drive the bus as well, although I didn’t realise at the time that the Saab seats I have don’t allow her to depress the pedals fully. Regardless it has been a great investment, especially on some of those NC500 turns.
You don’t have to reset the knob all the time that would be silly. It only works as needed and the knob sets the amount of power assist ie lighter or heavier!
Perhaps go back and read the ebay ad you linked to. It does not only work as needed, the knob sets between 0 and 100%, that's the only control it has. It has no way of knowing how fast you're going. Set it for parking it stays at that setting until you turn the knob.
You can reassess when you have rheumatism or whatever in 10-20 years from all that damp gardening. 5 years ago I had your attitude and no problems driving my bus, I considered power steering more of a novelty - like electric windows, no need. Things change when you least expect them.
You do mean ‘if’, don’t you? If not, may I have next weeks winning lottery numbers, please, Mystic Meg…?
OK, if. The point remains - fit and well no need, this is not for you, nor I 5 years ago and I never thought I'd buy one. Things change.
I think I'd have one in a heartbeat! But I also say that about a Subaru engine, and numerous other things Whilst the list is long, this (and the scooby) will lurk at the bottom. Maybe one day the things above will have been achieved....
I’ll just stick to ‘it is, what it is’, and worry about not being able to reverse park at 2 mph, later. Might get mown down on me motorbike, first…
So how old are you, that you think you need power steering, because you think you can’t manage without? Serious question…
