I want to buy a steering lock for our 1972 bus. It has the original steering wheel. It's parked on the road at the moment until we find a garage, we've just moved from London to Sheffield. Prepared to spend £100 or so if a good one. Thanks everyone, Brian.
When our bus sat outside, we used a Bulldog Wheelclamp: https://www.halfords.com/camping/ca...og-euroclamp-security-wheel-clamp-371336.html Which may help you along with a good steering lock
@Brian B If you buy something like @MorkC68 suggested I can long term loan you a crooklock. As an extra deterrent Im in Sheffield
Hi Paul ? Struggling to find something to fit my bus, went to local motor factors & Halfords and nothing works. Tried MarkC68's suggestion but I have Gas Burner wheels and the Bulldog clamp doesn't fit. If I could borrow your crook lock until I get something sorted that would be great. Thanks v much Brian 0794 1922 897
The crooklock isnt really long enough to work in a bus.. Looks good but you can "fold" it over the steering wheel if it sticks "out" or just ignore it if you put it across the wheel. Sometimes I CBA to undo mine for manouevering round the run up.
Yeah yeah, more of a deterrent. I'm either going to make a lockable pedal box or buy one if I can't be arsed.
Hi the last one is something I bought for my Ford Transit work van the guy fabricates them I guess if he had a bus at his workshop as a Guinea pig he could make them for our buses
I found that my wheel clamp I got with the van was so clumsy and awkward to fit that it stopped me just jumping in and driving it. I would really like the pedal clamps or steering clamp if they were simple and easy to remove (not by thieves obviously)
What is the wheel clamp that you've got pictured please? I've got an old clamp, but it's a bit too small for stock wheels and commercial tyres, which makes it near on impossible to fit. I'm looking for something easier (for me, not the thieves!) so that I actually use it! The similar Bulldog one that Halfrauds sell looks ace, but also carries a £125 price tag!
I have the large size "Disklok" on mine - but it is on a replacement smaller wood rimmed one - the standard one is too big for it to fit - I also have locks on 2 of the wheels. .
It does beg the question but some scallywags might struggle to 'lift' said beauty as you already have a foolproof anti theft device .... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
The £125 wheel clamp at Halfords similar to Jimbo4861's is no good according to a staff member ! You just let down the tyre, remove it and then reinflate tyre. And yes I do have a battery isolater but engine lid not lockable.
