Any one used the Type 4 one that heritage sell . I’m after one for the 914 https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/043903803B-external-14v-voltage-regulator-for-alternator.html I’m useless with stuff like this
If you need an external regulator for an alternator, that looks to be the kind of generic part that will do.
I got one of these.. https://www.justkampers.com/043-903...tm_source=email&dm_i=446W,F5RI,5FE98O,1Q3GI,1 Cant tell you if it works yet not started it! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
That’s the one I’ve used for the last 4 years - but I didn’t buy it from Heritage. https://www.woodauto.com/product/VRG3639
I have only ever used the mechanical type .. it’s a fraction of the size and at £20 I didn’t think it too bad . I was unsure of the 45 year old one Thanks
It’s smaller than the clockwork type, probably about half the size but the bolts are the same between centres and it plugs in as the original. I bought the Huco version but there are plenty of other manufacturers.
@lhu1281 You can have fun taking the lid off the 45-year old one, cleaning up the contacts and putting it back together. They’re surprisingly simple.
@mscwiggs I was initially looking for a smart one .im sure the ogbone would be ok . just trying to eliminate any future problems ... I have a few bits like ECU and the odd relay if needed
I got one of these off eBay as it was cheaper that the usual VW suppliers. Still bog standard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
