You have the crank/cam relationship correct and the cam gear can’t go on wrong because the bolt holes are not equidistant. Just turn the crank until #1 is at TDC, don’t try to align the dots with the split line.
The one dot will be between 10 and 11 o'clock ish on the cam wheel if you need a rough check... if your case half is flat ;-) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
