Nothing to unplug . Is everything present under the van? Have you got j-tubes on the engine instead of heat exchangers?
i genuinely do think the flaps on my heat exchangers need re-attaching to the cable, but tonight has been the first night i have noticed it being this cold this year too... i had a go in a modern car in the week and that was lovely and warm.
Even connected they are pants - but people were harder back then, so a slight whiff of heated air was deemed to be 'bloody luxury lad' .
Mine are currently in "winter mode", also known as cable tied open. I couldn't get one of the cables through the pipe as it was jamming up against something . No amount of pushing would get it through. I might try grinding down the metal end of the cable to see if I can get it through.
I'm pretty sure I've seen someone that fitted one to the passenger seat area of a bay with the chimney out the window?
I've actually got one these in my van in case the Webasto fails - to stick in the walk through on low with the quarter lights cracked open to vent it.
Check out the Chinese diesel heater threads. I’m using one in my beetle. Fantastic and less than £100 at the minute.
Got a ceramic element one last winter - useless. Don't know why they can't make something more viable as a heater when you can get a 12v cigarette lighter to glow red hot and a 12v mini kettle element to boil water.
