Bought a new starter for a 1977 1600tp only after removing old one its different! Can someone in the know confirm the new one is for a late bay? Meaning my one is an early?? Loosing the plot now Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Looks like it must be early, I would have your old one rebuilt, those cheap Chinese ones are just that
Yeah the plan was stick this on while original redone but away friday and looks like ill be taking taping hammer with me! You think my one is an prototype bay one? Someone said looks like bettle one? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Dorchester dorset. Original one has only needed tapping on 3 occasions but the try it may not work and i tend to worry about our baby Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Mine did it for about 8 years , I put a hit start relay on a week before I sold and it’s been fine since
I’ve got mine off at the moment, being rebuilt to original Bosche standard £65. That long shaft starter looks exactly the same as mine, which is for the type 4 engine. Good luck!
Hope to get fixed within 8 years my one has only done it 3 times on cold engine and so far a gentle tap worked. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Teesside Start Parts in Middlesbrough. http://mobile.dudasite.com/site/tee.../&utm_referrer=https://www.google.co.uk/#2984 Very helpful guys. I also got a battery for my MZ that was cheaper than eBay and everyone else.
Perfect. Mines a 77 bay with a later type start motor with none serviceable solenoid? This shouldn't be an issue i assume?
You’d need to talk to them to get a definite answer. Mine was the original Bosch starter. They fitted a new solenoid and pretty much new internals, even the case was painted. Also got the bush and 1 year guarantee. I’ll fit it tomorrow if it’s not raining and see how it works.
