I didn’t watch any of it last night, but I don’t usually watch these Telethons in any case. But as I have fond memories of Four Weddings And A Funeral I watched the sequel thingy they did this morning. Wish I hadn’t bothered Anyone else see it?
Well, the groom from memory was folically challenged! Sticking at 3 cos there's nobody else daft enough.....that's what the current Mrs tells me anyway.
Whilst I get it’s a noble cause. Comic relief night must be one of the most irritating events in tv history. Ooooooh how funny. Look at all those @hailfrank ban me please off of East Enders singing and dancing. Id rather stick forks in my eyes. Ooooh I know let’s get the actors from coronation street to pretend to be in a west end musical. Ooh ooooh ooooooh lets get James cordon to meet the pope. Please just book me into a Swiss clinic.
I know the original wasn’t exactly the high watermark of British film making, Andie McDowell was so wooden I’m surprised Hugh Grant didn’t get splinters, and the plot was fairly ridiculous, but it was funny (mostly) and a great date movie
No - I hate the charity TV specials - making you feel guilty for not giving - memories of Sir Bob on Live Aid shouting "give us your fecking money"!!. Apparently £1.5 billion given since the beginning - I wonder who got it all
wonder after the brexit will they still give have the money away to foreign countries , what about helping the people of britain ireland , when was the last time a foreign country fund raised for the uk which is on its knees universal credits
There are literally thousands upon thousands of charities who raise money the year round for UK stuff. Mrs Tatty works for one , a Children’s Hospice and I’ve raised money for it myself. I don’t mind giving to home and over seas appeals. I donated after the Boxing Day Tsunami. I don’t recall the last time we had a natural disaster in the UK that wiped out a quarter of a million people.
