very interesting read @Kkkaty, I’m more in the you left to fight a war against our great country so you should never be allowed to return camp
I think that my main thoughts on this are what KKKaty is saying above and I’m hoping her hubby/partner/partners/gym class will not be allowed into the country ever. Also another reason to be shot of the EU with her new Dutch links and possibly others from around the world that might claim to have fathered one of her brood or possibly one of the next ten or twenty that may shortly grace our maternity hospitals. This is not going to end well and will definitely cost us as tax payers a rather large amount of money. Can any good come of this ? I just can’t see it. The gutter press is usually activated and fed these little gems of stories just as the government would like all of us good little boys and girls united together with a nice glut of nationalistic pride and nicely diverted from what the government is buggering about with at the moment, just to take the heat off for a bit if you like. Now what could we possibly need to be diverted from ??? Any ideas??? I bet there’s loads already back here with their broods and possibly their grubbies too and they’re all working hard to forge a new life as Brit Cits. If only. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, just say NO!
Seems this is the line the Home Secretary is also taking on this story today: "My message is clear," Sajid Javid told the Times: "If you have supported terrorist organisations abroad I will not hesitate to prevent your return." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47248555
I heard the radio 4 interview and I was gobsmacked at the attitude - absolutely no remorse or regret and a seeming assumption that it was absolutely fine to go fight a war against the west with non-Muslims being okay to kill and then that it’s fine to say I want to come home and have my child in Britain. My reaction was that it’s a sad state of affairs when this kind of attitude is tolerable and that there’s any kind of support for it set in our politically correct society that seems to engender a reluctance to deal with such issues. The laws seem to favour the return of someone borne in a free society who then effectively turns against it to a life of terrorism only to be accepted when that life no longer suits them. And no doubt our policy of being an open door for anyone in the world claiming to be a political asylum seeker will come into play. (We are an international magnet for this and that just ain’t right). On the other hand there is the matter of her being a juvenile when coerced into that fight, and I don’t know the detail of that, but clearly there are issues with her underlying philosophies and alliegances that are at odds with the safety of our society, and what can really be done to re- assimilate her back into our society? I just don’t see that being realistic when someone has her remorseless attitude. I was heartened to hear the Home Secretary take a firm stance and say that the safety of the nation is the number one priority in this matter and whatever means possible would be used to protect that, as they should be. I don’t know those laws available to them, but I agree that there should be ways of dealing with such situations and I hope they use them to their fullest to prevent the readmittance of such people back into society without taking every possible measure until any risk has been assessed and dealt with appropriately, including revocation o citizenship if necessary. It should certainly be an option available to the authorities, and personally I hope it’s the one that is used. After all everyone has the potential to be influenced by parents and those around them in society into turning against societal values and doing bad stuff, but that doesn’t mean they’re simply forgiven for them, otherwise our jails would be empty. It’s a crazy world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I blame Bush and Blair for getting us too involved in other nation’s problems in the first place. But then that practice started long ago... The British Empire didn’t exactly help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quite rightly the British Government has responded robustly. I would expect the girls situation and what involvement she had in the time she has been in Syria, would be investigated which would take time and money. Once the true facts are established along with evidence, what happens next could be decided. Just because an individual has a British passport does not entitle them to participate in a terrorist organisation in a foreign country and subsequently expect to be repatriated at the UK's cost and carry on as if nothing wrong was done.
I think they’ve responded in anything but a robust manner. They’ve said a lot of “could”s and not enough “will”s.
All ex Hitler brainwashed youth who ended up with a record of brutality and terror are to be pardoned are they then .
don,t think " the british empire" can be blamed - its man's inhumanity to man - europe went to save christianity in the middle east with the crusades - muslims invaded the christian world and took part of spain they are all at it
It pain's me to say but someone just let her back in she has a child it not the child's fault and it would stop everyone having a great debate and drawing attention in the new's it should not be reported in my opinion because it add insult to the people who have died in combat fighting for democracy didn't get that choice to come back.
The government say that she is entitled to Bangladeshi citizenship so she can be stripped of her UK status, as the father of the child is Dutch perhaps the same could be said of their child, I know its not the kids fault but whats the difference between that child and all the other children in Syria and they wont all be coming here.
