Are they “brats” ? Beatrice is patron of the children’s hospice where Mrs Tatty works. Says she was very nice when she met her. Doesn’t sound very brattish to me. They both have jobs, so presumably pay taxes. Are they any more overentitled than most of them? I don’t mind them being called brats if that’s what they genuinely are, but I suspect, that you, like me, know very little about them, never mind enough to dismiss them as “brats”.
never met them myself not really interested in people like that, I met a number of people who served with the Duke of P sounds like he was a pompous oaf full of self importance and expected everyone to run around like servants, I only ever passed by him once getting a coffee during a tea break. Now I don't know what the etiquette is but the Duke of Ps kids are princesses, whereas Princess Anne decided her kids would have no 'title'. They might have 'jobs' but not sure how much work they do, it's easy doing charity work when you have no one demanding your rent etc. I believe the monarchy needs slimming down, not just in the waistline.
This ^ how is the apparent £2.5m calculated? Extra officers? From where? Average police officers wages @ say 30k a year so an hourly rate of £16 give or take, thats a 150,000 man hours =£2.4m which still leaves £100k for for barriers temp toilets etc. I call bulls#@t on the medias fake news!
The cost of an employee isn't just their wage....you need to up the cost by another 35% for a start. Add to that the number of specialist police and senior ranks who earn more than £30k. Add the months of planning, travel and possible accommodation, food etc. in the day. I'd imagine £2.5m is optimistic.
Why 35%? and not to forget these officers are already employed by the force the only extra expense is overtime, regardless of how high ranking those officers are. These numbers are plucked from thin air or based on the fact that is what it would cost to solely employ officers for that occasion.
They could also be employed doing proper policing for the whole of the community and not just lining the streets etc for some wedding for the eighth in line to the throne.
I’m not sure what you mean. I presume your employed. Let’s say you earn £30K. That’s not the cost to your employer. They have to pay employers NI & Pension as a minimum. Employers may then have those other payments that I mentioned earlier. It’s really not as simple as you think.
