Gusbus's window was an easy fit, both rear, the only one which was tricky turned out to be the middle sliding window!

Maybe I could install a grid of water cooling pipes which I could then use to supply a nice warm shower.

Dooo it! dooo it! ... Seriously though, I think you should. I used the pipes that usually go into underfloor heating.
    Plastic/aluminium/plastic.
You might only get pre-heat though ...

Changed the oil. 3.5 litres of Halfords cheapest 10W40..
Reversed into a bollard at Halfords and split open another rusty bit of bumper. I dont think I have enough welding gas left so I bashed it straighter and its off to BOC on Monday at lunchtime.

Ordered two new rear tyres for fitting on thursday. Its gone through the tread right on the inside edge. All the rest of the tyre is about 3mm... Not long to go to the cords.... All that extra camber from lowering .. "bling " costs.

  11. Went for a run out and took some piccies for its for sale ad.

  12. Today I got stuck in to Filmores poor running. I only had 2 hours, so I checked the carb balance, and found they were out. I decided to baseline them again, so I have pulled them both out, and cleaned and blown through the jets and float bowl. I have reset the float hight to 6mm, as one was 7 mm and the other was 4 mm, set the throttle stops so the butterfly is open 4 thou, and reset the mixture screw to 2 1/2 turns out from bottom.
Tomorrow is refitting carbs, checking the fuel pressure, timing, best lean and balancing. Wish me luck.

Still finding botch-ery from repairs I paid for ...
That's the loom where it passes through the back of the deformation panel ...
Nice work , take a bow John from beetle peeple in Morley who welded the new panels on about 5 years ago ...

Thought it was chaffing to start with but it`s burnt , probably when the fool was welding close to the loom ....

Pure luck that there`s no bare wires .

    :hattip:

  18. Painted the left battery tray and surrounding area along with the cab floor.

Be interesting to see how Rustoleum paint turn out, colour seems a fairly good match to the original Neptune blue.

  20. This is what worries me about having any welding done up here by folk I don’t know. I absolutely trust peter fletcher but he doesn’t do welding anymore and said he can’t recommend anyone because ‘they’re all rubbish’. :(
