ok, so I have just done a dry compression test 95 105 103 100 I will now do a wet test. Can anyone see any issues? Are they lower than expected? Ta
Wet test done 120 125 120 105 Number 4 only came up 5 psi from 100 Should I be concerned? Do these results show worn piston rings?
Some pics of the spark plugs. Running rich? 1. 2. 3. 4. Note small chip... They are all dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
... Rigging up a wire from the starter spade to dab on the battery will let you watch the gauge get to it's max. Some install a permanent wire with a push switch, it's a handy thing.
With a temp wire sparking away and your other hand opening the throttle, a switch does look attractive lol. Best hide it though or peeps will be able to rig a live to the coil and start her up. Helps if your steering lock works and I guess and villain could just as easily bridge the starter to start it.
Yea type 4, I returned home yesterday after a 150 mile journey. Could the plus have dried off that quickly? yep foot full down on all tests done, it's a 2.0 FI Yep all plugs out and turned the engine over 8 times per test I am going to calculate how much oil has been consumed since I last filled it up.
It's definitely leaking a lot of oil I'd say leaking more than it is burning. I am planning to get the engine out tomorrow and weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got a new engine. Not that it helps your problem! Mine was leaking from main oil seal, pushrods and barrels. And it was burning oil through piston rings.
Not really, not sure if it's the pushrod seals spraying oil out or it's the cylinder head gasket above.
