Getting really wound up now ..don't no if it's just me getting tired.. All I want is a small car, full to full fuel option, airport terminal collection or meet and greet. All the above is easy enough to find .. But the bloody insurance is doing my head in, I have no problem in principal to having to Pay the excess cover insurance direct to the hire company - but don't want to have to have a payment put on a credit card that you lose if you have a claim then you claim it back from the insurance you've paid them for. Just want to pay for the rental, pay for the extra insurance and that's it ...seem to be struggling to find something ..not sure if such a hire place offers this or am I just going to have the excess charged to my card ??
I think you have to pay insurance excess on credit cards these days. Don't think there is anyway round it. Unless you have to make a claim it won't matter as it will just be refunded. I've hired cars a few times from Malaga, full to full on fuel is best, one time I pre booked a car, turned up to pick it up and there were about 100 people in the queue in front of me. I went and hired one from another place as didn't want to lose 3+ hours of my holiday or life!
The last time I booked one off terminal - we must have waited 3 hours - in the sun with a young child ..what really wound us all up was either locals or regulars just walked to the front of the queue
The massive queue I didn't bother waiting in, was in the airport. The best one I found was just outside the airport. I'll have another look for its name, but couldn't find it before
Niza car hire is just across the road from Malaga airport and didn't have any queue. It was a few years ago, so check for recent reviews!
The place I'm going to is about 40mile from Malaga and although it's in a touristy area the village we stay in is a little bit remote - it does have a bus service though. Friends of ours do go to the same place and use a coach from the airport and public transport when they get there but I prefer to have a car ( despite it being a nightmare to park in the village) as it just gives that extra flexibility and I can cram the boot full of €2 bottles of vino tinto as well ...
DoYouSpain...... every time for us, we have family out there ( my brother married a Spanish girl..... ) the Spanish side use them too. Reserve for free, no cancellation fee, rates and offers change daily. In the run up to going out I end up with 3-4 booked and just cancel the most expensive ones the day before we go. Defo make sure you have selected full to full on the fuel though or you'll get shafted! ( the paperwork always has Hertz on it but usually half the cash ).. http://m.doyouspain.com
Always worth getting a zero excess insurance policy when hiring a car if it has an excess try someone like insurance4carhire.
