yes - you can also get a single socket one, shockingly the amount of leads on ebay that are just a normal 4 way extension lead with a site socket on amaze me....
It does actually and it isnt a nice way to go. Particularly if it doesn't kill you straight away. Internal burns, blood boils, if your lucky you suffer cardiac arrest or lose all brain function. Ive got some good pics if your interested.mif your not squemish google it and have a look.
I once tried to fix a boiler by "wiggling some wires". Needless to say: 1) It was never going to fix the issue. 2) I forgot to turn the mains off. 3) It tickled!!!
If you do get a quick belt, worth remembering that that's what it feels like when you're wearing a pair of trainers with heavily insulating soles. Try it in bare feet ... Saw a pic once of a bloke who thought it might be fun to shin up a power pylon. It wasn't pretty.
It was going quite well for reference this thread, now it's got a bit daft, electricity isn't a joke in a metal van, I'm trying to get this 100% safe.
Righto @Dicky @matty I got the electrician at work to get me a "proper" camper unit, which is double pole and sold as a camper one, the labels even say so... It's internally wired "for ease of installation" I presume it is as easy as it looks? Feed in from site to bottom of 25a main breaker then feed to 2 curcuits out of each breaker following the correct colours? One thing concerns me, you said I needed B rated breakers, these are C - does it really matter? I wanna crack on!
i would prefer Bs B type MCBs operate at an overload of 3 to 5 times the rated current. Type B MCBs are usually used in domestic installations where the inrush currents and surges are low. C type MCBs operate at an overload of 5 to 10 times the rated current. These MCBs are used in commercial and industrial installations where high inrush current are likely due to motor starting or due to large no of fluorescent lighting.
Dont have regs with me to check but its difficult to ascertain the actual fault current as too many variables so not sure i actually can anyway. Short circuit should be fine, rcd provides shock protection its just overload thats the issue id say. Im gonna go out on a limb and say it should be fine although not ideal.nwill have a look at the trip cutves when i can but dont think itvwill be good news.
Blimey! I've searched eBay and most "camper" ones come with C... I think I'm in agreement it's probably not ideal but I just wanna crack on.... Is my theory on input/output wiring right?
