At some point I will stick a how to thread up on this as 19 pages and counting of waffle doesn't help anyone but its been useful. Im stopped at the moment due to not having my van but one thing I did notice. When I've been testing the unit in my bus its got it up to temperature no problem and kept it toasty, I've even had it on full whack and that was unbearably hot. That however is sat on the drive (quite sheltered) and with thermo-mats on the windows. I took the mats off the other day to get ready to drive it to the welders. Significant difference it has to be said. Not a real world test at all. Once its back ive a couple of jobs to do then Id like to get a couple of overnighters in. I think all those that have heaters in their van are well aware of how efficient they are but if you don't then you'd be amazed at how they can make the unbearable , bearable if you get my gist! Id like to get a thermal cover for the canvas and have the roof up too to see how it copes as that just about doubles the space needing heating in min (Viking) but its another could of hundred quid for that. Not sure I can justify that at the moment. perhaps a birthday pressie or something
Not complaining. Its good, just cycles less and stays warmer noticeably longer. Btw was going to ask what issues you had withnyour control panel/stat as although heater works fine the LEDs on the panel arent working? Been in touch with whale but they havent got back to me yet. Doesnt mean i cant use it but if theye arent forthcoming any chance of loaning your spare to rule it out?
Btw this is what the enclosure is for as nowhere really to fit stat so this will go up top somewhere with my remote relays when they come.
I got it off ebay but supplier was: caravanpartsandaccessories2012 ( Feedback score of 13395) expensive for what it is! I would like to flush it in but ive nowhere to do it. I notice that most controls ive seen are the other way round, mine seems to be on its side for some reason! I may fit it into a top locker im thinking of building but this will do for now. Next job is to work out how to run the cables up to the roof. Can see anyway other than to surface clip them unfortunately.
I may have to build it its own cupboard. At this rate id have been better off having it fitted inside the van anyways lol!
