looks like my engine will have to be dropped and stripped. been out for a couple of trips recently with no problems untill thursday night in the nice wind and rain. thought it might of dropped a valve , popped of the covers everything is clean and looks fine(cant find the bloo** feeler gauges to check) getting a noise when i lift off the throttle, im hoping its something easy to fix ie cheap.
My guess is that the drum fan has sheared its center, Locks on acceleration and loosens off and rattles when you lift off... If youd dropped a valve youd know about it!
at first i thought my oil filter bracket had come loose (1600 tp engine) so went checking things, not that. took alternater belt off so its not that. when the engines running with throttle it was ok its seems to rattle when off throttle. when driving thursday didnt have any loss of power. no extra oil leeks i can see.
so is it a knocking or a rattling sound or a thump? can you video it and post it up? or forward it from a phone to my number 07866899544
been back out to the garage...i yhink its goosed @Fish anyone got a cheap tp engine.......................
Building an engine from mildly burnt bread is never a good idea. I'd try and use some form of metal next time.
ive removed the fan belt so its not the fan, also both covers off and clean as a whistle apart from oil but no crap in it...
Seriously, it's the one out of Gusbus - full tinware, gearbox, JK stainless exhaust, just needs a pair of ICTs and linkages, starter motor and it's good to go.
anyways you where supposed to be listening to the engine not inspecting my bread i made on its a bake a bread day by @bernjb56 . i probably need better ingrediants, hint hint.
