Sat here on my sick bed I see someone emailed the magazine and was included in the letters section re Scam Ads - of course this is followed by a wishy washy response that its difficult to pick out the genuine sellers and the scammers. OK occasionally it is. Then clear as day is day at the back of the magazine on the same page the same photo is used "an orange late bay" above two adverts. Now if I can spot this and one of them is in Anglesey £7,995) other Southampton (£28,500) then surely they can and should do something before going to print otherwise the message I take from this is we don't mind where our £15 ad fee comes from. I would have scanned and uploaded the page although haven't as not particularly easy on crutches etc. I have emailed them to say its not acceptable and that in the scheme of things shouldn't they be taking action to try and prevent this. Be interested if I get any response. Sorry if this topic was covered whilst I was in hospital and can anyone scan the relevant page in for me?
Agree Mr P - they through their inaction let these scammers flourish - shame on those who publish these unchecked.
Looking at the ad on the Volksworld website that is only a £8k van judging by the paint. I guess the other has the wrong photo added !
Whether its a scam or a printing error, it still shows how guff the magazine is. Stopped buying it years ago due to the appalling standard of copy
After I sold my bus someone messaged me to say it was for sale again on gumtree at a silly knock down price somewhere in Scotland, lots of scammers out there these days
They might have converted the front to a late bay though as their cooler than splitties, you could get split screen fronts for bays ?
Exactly shows how poor their proof reading is ... the featured buses seem to be more and more brand spankers refurbs by the usual high value advertisers ... the wife pays for this as an xmas present a couple of years ago, but one day I should probably find how to cancel and find something more interesting to read. The next classifieds page shows what looks like a Brazilian Bay with water-cooled front for £6,150 that can't also be genuine?
Volksworlds Classified Ads page is just as bad & Volksworld themselves do f*** all to get rid of scam ads on there. Trevs Split Screen was scammed & listed on there for six months, he called them, they refused to pull the ad as it was paid for by the advertiser despite him saying he was the registered keeper. He got his Sergeant to call too and inform them it was a scam, again they refused to remove it. We bombarded the scammer with bogus phone calls Its not listed anymore, thankfully! James Peene was totally useless in helping them!
Loads of people could have been scammed out of deposits etc during that period despite the police saying the bus didn't belong to the person advertising it ,just pathetic
