Youtube videos won't play after Shockwave Flash update. :(

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Zebedee, Dec 10, 2015.

  1. My computer installed an update for Shockwave Flash yesterday and now i can't watch youtube videos. :(
They just sit with the timer thing going roundand round then eventually come up with an error message.

Anyone else have the same problem after yesterdays update?

I found this video on youtube you can watch to show you how to fix the problem of not being able to watch youtube videos. Thats some twisted logic.:p

  2. Is shockwave Adobe?

  3. Yep.
Its the only thing on the computer that changed since yesterday.

  5. Thought so. Mine did this about 4-6 weeks ago.

Adobe has an 'Old Software Remover' - I used that which un-installed a couple of old updates.
    Removed latest update
Went to Adobe and installed latest update
    Restart PC/Laptop

  9. Modern plagues. No wifi and computer playing up.
Just got to think 'What would Harry do?'

  10. New version of adobe downloaded, computer restarted and it still doesn't work. :(

WWHD? Probably spend his millions and try and hookup with Emma Watson if he has any brains. ;)

As we say in our house in these situations "its got the wrong number of Flash".
Our then six year old explained what was wrong with the PC using that phrase when she visited a CBeebies game web page that did not work..

  12. Gonna try finding an earlier version of flash and see what that does.

  15. I would love to say I know what to do mate, but I don't.

Only thing I would try is this:

Download and run this, its totally fine and free, I use it once a month. Cleans up and finds any issues - https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Also -Delete cookies and Defrag the computer. AND... windows 7 has a performance task you can do too, that's under: START / CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM AND SECURITY / FIND AND FIX PROBLEMS. 2 options.

    1. run maintenance tasks
    2. check for performance issues

    ??????

    After that.....I'm lost

  16. Turn it off and on again.

I've cleared cache, cookies and everything else.
Uninstalled flash player and reinstalled it.
Unistalled and installed an earlier version.
    Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox.
Rolled back the computer to a week ago and still they won't play.
