My van is a man and his name is HUEY. The reg. starts UEY and i've just always thought that these vans are more manly than womanly. Big and strong etc.

  5. The reg. on ours starts with DEX so rather unimaginativly he is called Dexter. My favorite name was my old green Beetle which my son called Fungus, as in 'Fungus the Bogey Bug' :)

Ours is called Landyn - pull up a pew...

The registration includes the P166, which translates to Pigg; I considered Peppa, but soon rejected that on the basis that I didn't want to be misconstrued as the local paedo!

Landon Pigg is an alternative / indie country singer (was on the Shrek soundtrack) which led me to research the name, which is old English for "long hill". I was toying with the name when I went to collect her... drove her home along the M27 and sure enough she ran out of petrol half way up the long hill between Fareham and the drop to Portsmouth!!

Cars are girls, I thought it was an unwritten rule - especially these temperamental old VW's that do everything on their own terms!? I changed the spelling to Landyn to make it more feminine (albeit, this seems like a redneck type thing to do considering the baby names web pages).

We've replaced the fuel sender now... she now chooses different reasons to stop inexplicably!

  7. My camper's Male i call him Jack because his Reg kinda spells Ripper so Jack The Ripper ;)

  8. Mine's called Goldie. A girl! The original Australian owners christened her this in May '78. They owned her until I bought her in August 2010. Her name's a reflection of her colour - which is Marino Yellow, a sort of goldie / orange / mellow yellow colour.
