i am relatively new to xbox online. i got mine all sorted but i went to get a mate online and we are having some issues. as there are some clever types on here i thought i would ask. he has orange broadband on a netgear 1000 router. i have managed to do the port forwarding and get the NAT type to open the game keeps booting him saying the server is not available but i can still talk to him over the head set. its all been rebooted and settings checked. i even took his xbox to my house and played on it with no issues so i am guessing its a router or broadband issue. any one got any sensible suggestions?
I'll ask the 12 year old xbox tech expert when he gets home from school, - I think he had similar issues playing online with his friends but they managed to sort it between them. Let you know later tonight, he might actually be able to string a sentence together after school if its to do with his xbox, as opposed to the usual what did you have for dinner?..."cant remember" I usually get!
Have you worked through the troubleshooter on the xbox site? I've never had any problems connecting. Just switched on and it was there.
Is it just one game that's messing about is his gold membership up to date and is his software up to date ?
I have given up trying to play online games on the XBox, the last one I tried was Halo Reach - I could walk towards a chap emptying every clip in my arsenal into face while he just stood there then single shot killed me. I gave up on it. I prefer single player games so getting well into Skyrim currently. XBox user id = PaleyX
we are playing black ops at the mo membership has only just been bought so thats ok. dont think its a console or game issue as it all worked at my house xbox id thing is aussie bay
