Anything will do. Just depends how big you wanna go.
    What Xbox model is it?
The newest version of Xbox will look better on a new 8k telly,as it will upscale the graphics. How much money do you want to spend?
    No expert,just common knowledge...

  2. I'll swap your Xbox for a Ford Fiesta, MOT just expired, needs a bit of work, want me to send pictures? Can bring it over at lunchtime.

  3. Doesn't need to be anywhere nearb 8k , 4k max on screens over 55", its better to have a screen with a high response/refresh rate

If money is no object, is what I meant…

  5. No I get you, it's just on anything under 30" you get very little discernable difference in image when it comes to hi res, as I say have a fast response time on the screen refresh on smaller screens is preferable 144hz won't be as sharp as 4k but can handle frame rates of well over 60fps

  10. How olds the grandson? May balance the level of investment if they are young playing on an old Xbox/ Xbox 360 thats been found in a cupboard

  11. He’s 11, currently using a Panasonic HD Tv, not 4K. I think he has xbox 1. I’m not looking for competition quality, just something so he can free up the Tv for his mom.

Any old telly will do then.

  13. Like @Soggz says an old telly will be good for that have a butchers on gumtree to see if anything is going reasonably cheap - I tend to go for brands I know doing this - I picked a 42" Sony Bravo for 100$ (about 50quid) for use in the man-cave under the house

Doing a look now on Gumtree UK (I picked Manchester for location) there are some on here that would be amazing for a 11year

    https://www.gumtree.com/search?feat..._first&search_scope=false&photos_filter=false

Theres a Panasonic on there thats advertised as 40" for 100quid - its actually a 42" model, no streaming on it - though just through a chromecast on there and you could through the usual up on the screen via a mobile of tablet. You could try and offer them 75 quid?

    hope it helps mate
