Imagine what the queue for the washing up sinks and bogs are going to be like , and as for having a shave forget it
I remember 'checking in' at a site by the river in Stratford and was asked to park the van so that the sliding door was to the 'correct' side. He nearly had a panic attack when I mentioned that I have a sliding door on both sides and can use either, he genuinely didn't know what to do!
https://www.theguardian.com/busines...salvage-our-summer?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other One positive upshot could be more sites being available and staying open once flights are allowed...silver lining and all that. Just of note, the Guardian has impeccable taste in campervans of the right hue
Think it’s a case of be careful what you wish for. I don’t want lockdown to end so I can go shopping for stuff I don’t really need, or even to go on holiday. Just be nice to spend time with family and friends and have some variety in my life. I genuinely believe that most or a large proportion of people haven’t really followed the rules. I only have to go for a stroll to see them so I’ve no faith that when we come out of lockdown they will be careful. In fact the whole thing has demonstrated to me that people aren’t nice and don’t give a toss about others generally!
Interesting observation, I do think it depends on a lot of factors. But clearly densely populated areas still need open spaces, probably more than they currently enjoy. The impact of hospitality opening will depend on the detail, at the moment there is talk of outside areas only and given easter is relatively early eating in a beer garden might not be that attractive, what I'm reading is some venues wont bother.
Indeed Even if it was free camping in Cornwall I won’t be going it’s going to be Rammed ,and judging by last September people just couldn’t care less, and behaved worse than normal, The campsite said they were only taking self contained units motorhomes or caravans, That turned out to be lies
May would make more sense, when all people over 50 have been offered vaccinations. We've been in Lockdown so long, it would be a shame to blow it all, just to meet an arbitrary date i.e. Easter. Anyway, there's always a last minute job/s to do before the season starts .
You already thought that though. Other people eh? Barstewards the lot of 'em! Careful you're not turning into a left wing version of a Daily Mail reader. Personally I believe to damn millions of people you know nothing about is mistaken and that you assume they make up the vast majority is rather sad. I've found quite the opposite during the past year with people more than willing to help each other, mask up, keep their distance, wash the cash in dettol, you name it. I would go as far as to say people have exceeded what was asked of them and the average fellow is a jolly good egg.
I think you're mostly right, people have been helpful, caring, and wanting to do what it takes - but lockdown 3 (being a wintertime rather than summer constriction) has taken a lot of folk to the edge of their 'tolerance', and the rules are being pushed and bent far more than April / May last year. I think when the restriction barrier is removed, there is going to be a chaotic tumbling forward of quite a proportion of the population, - especially if it coincides with a spell of good weather. We'll see.
