I have some pretty deep scoring on one side of my rocker shafts. I expect that's where most of the working pressure sits. I don't have a reference as to what "too"worn looks like and what we have to put up with with 40 year old engines and scarce parts. I'm not sure these pictures help as it's actually worse than these look, but what's the verdict ? I have a wanted thread out for these but I'm thinking that I may have to push on, finish the rebuild, run it in, take my week low mileage tour and replace them after that......annoying as it'd be much easier while the engine's out
Hi Zed, yes checked and all of them are scored, so 4 shafts would be good. I also checked the rockers themselves and most are passable except 3 of the type below. I'm unsure why these same 3 are the worst perhaps it's something to do with the oil feed. So if you have 3 of these as well that would be perfect. I know your vbusy but if you could sort these soonest I'd be very grateful, pm me a price etc
