Woolies-Trim Window Seal Rubber Extrusion - which one?

  1. Hi Guys,

I need to replace the window rubbers on my Type 2 Devon converted panel van.

I've read through lots of the posts on here but I haven't found out what rubber extrusion people are ordering for their panel van conversion window apertures.

I'm assuming people are using Part no: R747-358 For 6mm (ΒΌ") to 1.5mm (1/16"). (this si the one with the chrome filler strip)

    See:

    http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/p-1799-rubber-extrusion.aspx

What are people using for the chrome filler strip joiner as Woolies don't stock anything?

    This:

    http://www.justkampers.com/311-853-...im-on-window-seals-for-vw-t2-bay-and-t25.html

And does it fit the profile of the Woolies chrome filler strip nicely?

I'm doing 3 windows (rears and sliding door) - I'm assuming 10 metres will be enough?

Has anyone used any vulcanizing solution to glue the ends of the rubber together? I've seen people mention Loctite or Black Witch.

I'd like to put together a 'How-To' off the back of this thread as the information about window rubbers is scattered throughout many posts.

    Thanks

  2. Phoned woolies, not that helpful, got measurement for glass thickness (5mm), phoned woolies back - no one answers at lunchtime... Order from JK

    Thanks for all your help...

  3. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

I think most people just buy from a VW retailer and wouldn't know what it was other than a converted panel van seal.
