  1. ^^ both good ideas :)

I'll try and measure the MGF seats height tonight and see if the head rests unclip easily or if they are locked in place with only adjustment movement

.....dont suppose any of the seats are likely to fold forward enough rather than recline?

you have a fabricator ....how very posh :D .....I dont suppose he can knock up some top locker brackets in polished stainless steel?

fabricator is generally spelt "brother" and gets paid in beer (or planning applications, so he asks this morning!)

Van is outside the office, i'm going to try folding it forwards....

Folding forwards doesn't appear to be enough...

Did find a bottle of water behind the seats I'd forgotten about tho!

Its a shame the wheels don't match the paint work.

  5. cheeky s0d, if I'm down tomorrow take another look in real life ....and then tell me they don't match :p ....actually, you'd probably say that to me anyway, so I'm not listening to you :p

  6. just measured the seats, standard ones are approx. 57cm from the metal work they sit on, to the top.

the holes for the bunks are approx. 58cm from the base to centre of hole, so only about 1cm of clearance

MGF seat are approx. 65cm from the floor to the top of the seats (not including the head rests) ....the head rest are removable

I think I'll still risk fitting them ....eventually, as I could either:

remove head rests, slide seat forward on runners and recline - with might give the clearance

....or make a new hole slightly higher up

  7. Congratulations dudr

  8. couple of pics of the cab bunk mounting holes

    front

rear, you can see how close it is

pics of the angle bar fitted for the roof bed, I fitted it with a spirit level, not sure that was a good idea or not

you can see its a bit close to the poptop mech at the rear

....I didn't want to fit it too low as I wanted to make sure I screwed into the wood frame of the poptop base

  9. cheers :)

  10. and finally a pic of the R&R !!

looks gooooood  I'm very pleased with Mrs Diddymens hard work :)

    seams line up nicely too

might have to add another layer of foam to the base though as it's slightly lower (or I might put some packing between the base and hinge)

  11. Yep...bulkheads both in place. I move the seats as far forward as they'll go on the runners then recline them as far back as possible so the head rests sit on the bulkhead tops. Works fine with my Saab seats.
Unfortunately not...that would be too easy, wouldn't it? ;)

Fab work you and Mrs D are doing there... love the interior!

Vader: With only 4 bolts, when your friends arrive, they will find this fire extinguisher fully operational

Princess Diddymen: hang on, hang on, that's the wrong film .....and its not even your line .....come to think of it, how did I even get here .....on cloud city in case any one else is wondering ;)

    Yoda: answer that I can

Princess Diddymen: last thing I remember is, you had made me a drink, then I started feeling dizzy

Yoda: your friends you were worried about, rush off you wanted to, touch you I didn't

    Admiral Akbar: its a trap

Vader: Yoda? is that you? ....its been a long time

Yoda: grown you are, no longer a lithe you boy you are, tight muscles you used to have

Vader: Its all coming back to me now

Yoda: hummmmm, be going I must, yellow lines parked on I am

Princess Diddymen: wait, Yoda, what about my training

Yoda: fine you will be, pop by you must, next time you are near Dagobah.....bye

Vader: The Force is with you, young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet.

Princess Diddymen: Weeeeell, this is awkward, so, what have you been up to lately

Vader: Oh, you know, not much .....like your restoration ...BOOM, see what I did there!, in all seriousness, I've been quite busy. I've got the Emperors cloaks to wash, he cant go to the toilet on his own these days so I've got to be on call 24/7 to help him and this afternoon I had to freeze Hand solo in carbonite, The Emperor has me working all hours......now on to business - Join the dark side Diddymen

Princess Diddymen: Your not really selling the whole dark side thing very well

Vader: If you wont join me then you will die

  18. well that was last weekends work :D

4 bolts and the fire extinguisher was fitted, I've not wired up the dash warning light yet, or fitted the cut off solenoid .....of the new fuel pipe

This weekend, I cut some wood

one bit is one of the bed boards for the poptop bed, the other will be for the rear head banger locker. Decided I couldn't really afford to buy a new one, and as I had some spare ply I thought I'd make one. I finished cutting most of the parts today.

and, the last of the cushions for the bed is now finished

looks good in the van, and the seams all line up nicely
