Lol u pulling the pee ,right done the finger test and from what I can tell I have it right ,it's got me right in a bad mood now ,any ideas ,oh I had the wife out turning it over while I turned the dizzy but all I got for my efforts were a few pops and a wheeze
Yeh they where damp but not soaking ,never thought to much about this cause the van was running up until I pulled the dizzy to replace it with the electronic one
When I built my first engine at home I was convinced I had the leads in the right place for several days when I hadn't. I'm quite stubborn. I had another van parked 20ft away and after 2 days looked at that one and found out just how dim I can be at times.
Here's my "memory jogger" kept in the engine compartment of my 1600. Note the offset position of the distributor drive. When it's parallel to and closest to the rear bumper as shown, piston 1 is at TDC
See were the dizzy drive sits in the slot like in Ur pic is that the position that it should sit when in tdc
The rotor is pointing torwards 5 o'clock in that pick and I had it set on the timing scale just before 0 with the mark on the pulley
