Wiper park position adjust?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by SundialCamperSpecialists, Aug 24, 2020.

  1. How do you do this, Congi’s wipers bounce back up an inch or so before parking so it’s not just a case of moving the arms down or they’re too low and ride over the window rubber before parking slightly higher.
    Not vital but irritating!

    @davidoft or @mikejones might know

  3. Hoping it's not on slip ring which means it'll need stripping down unless you've a spare motor ??

    I have seen this one - If when it starts, the arms go down, your motor has been assembled 180 degrees out so it runs backwards. So it is parking in the wrong place. I did this when I took the motor apart ... It goes back in two ways, one it runs forwards, the other is it runs backwards.
    Undo two screws on motor shell. Rotate motor shell 180 degrees, replace screws. Means taking the wipers out.

    Or the mechanism has had the lever from the gearbox put back in a random orientation relative to the correct position.

    You need to adjust the arm on the motor , unless the park is toast

    does it park there or stop then move to there

  6. It parks there after going down lower, so it’s parking on the up stroke!, fairly certain it’s the original untouched motor. I had the wipers off a couple of years ago when I did the screen surround but would have just taken them off and put back on again without messing with arm or internals.
    It’s like the park has slipped a bit!

  7. The short arm on the motor is not lined up correctly.when the blades are in the park position you want on the screen the arm from the motor needs to be in line with the linkages that go to each spindle .

    Could be the plastic gear starting to fail

  9. ^ could also be this. The park contacts in the motor should be fixed in position. Could be something moving inside. I’d take the lid off the motor assembly for a looksee.
