    Something for the weekend...
One evening earlier this week I dismantled the clutch to remove the autolube gears that are driven by the crank.
I'll do it the old skool way and use a 2T mix in the petrol.
Anyway, the gear is a distancing piece that has to be replaced with a shim or shims, to a certain thickness.

    Job done...

Or so I thought. The clutch basket wouldn't go back on and closer inspection revealed a slightly tired Woodruff key.
Saturday playtime arrived today. Fingers crossed the shims sort the issue of clutch engagement. It's a dark rabbit hole of clutch plate thickness if not:thinking:

  12. Was there anything wrong with the autolube set up, or just not trusting it?

I don't honestly know if it was faulty. I can control the mix, and I know I'll be paranoid about the jetting for a while with the 177 so it seemed the right thing to do with it being an old Sprint but with the modern PX grafted in.
I also removed the elestart ring coz we all know how much fun it is bump starting a scooter that has oiled up from lack of modern premix!

I think when I made the decision to disable the metering and butcher the carb my option was to fit a PX tank. 120 quid or there abouts and because the project was being closely monitored by the current Mrs Monkey I went cheeep

I'm hoping enough time has passed that a few quid on the scoot will pale into insignificance with the (authorised) spending on the syncro

  19. I’m officially skint and my shopping list keeps getting longer!

  20. Change of plan. The Primmy I bought had 'issues' so that's gone and been replaced with, at last, a 50 Special.
