  1. For that much damage it sounds like a personal attack. Get the police involved. I know people knock them but they're all we've got for vandalism, I'm afraid.

  2. For the superglue. I don't know what it's called but if you know someone who works in A&E they should be able to get you some solvent for it.

gutted for you, but as said that's a lot of damage for the sake of it, i'd be looking at if i or the family had "upset" someone...if you have kids have they "dissed" another kid? that's the mentality of the youth of today isn't it?

  4. sick retards....
im just glad i have a 6ft wall around my van... if i caught anyone doing that, they would be DEAD.
hope you got the police involved...

  5. Get the van put away for winter and sort it out when your ready. In the mean time hunt the little feckers down >:D. Sorry, not very constructive...Deffo get the Police involved so they can build up a history just in case.

  6. just mentioned this to swmbo, she said it sounds personal, just what i was thinking, somebody has it in for you buddy.

  7. I feel for you jealousy can be an evil thing but i have known a few people who have had vehicles vandalised and 9 out of 10 have been undercovers and lets face it they get put undercovers because they are your pride and joy and they know that you see when i was 14 i was in with the wrong crowd and we use to play football on a field and opposite a guy had a well nice 1960's maybe 70's lotus he use to moan like mad if football went near it so 1 night my so called mates decided to vandalise it i felt so guilty i couldnt go near the field i told my mum who took me round and offered to pay for the damage the guy said no and duely made there parents foot the bill or though at time wish had kept mouth shut as got bullied at school and known as a grass but now i know it was the right choice but had that cover not been on think they would of left alone

  8. Matt is still in bed but when Freya wakes him up in a bit I will ask him about the superglue ... he works in adhesives (well not literally) and may know what can do the job for you.

omg that's awful WHY do some people do things like that!! So sorry for you :( :(

  10. Usually done by stupid kids who have no concept of ownership. I have a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe, and as I live near above a shop parking can be a pain. It's been keyed, mirrors smashed and the worst bit is the bonnet has been stamped on . Now I would love to know who did it as I would wait until they had worked hard to get a car, taxed/mot'd/insured it, polished it and worked hard to get it looking nice, then I would go round and destroy it. See how they like it. God forbid it ever happend to my Bay as I would go mental! >:D

  11. There are a couple of ways to remove the superglue.

    * Nail varnish remover. This will dissolve the glue quickly, be careful of any paint and use only tiny amounts at a time. Use the cheapest nastiest you can find, it's the acetone that is doing the work not the jojoba oils!!!! Don't waste your time with superglue removers as we aren't allowed to use good solvents anymore and the replacements don't work very well... just like the new nitromors!!!!

*Boiling water, this will take some time (hours of re-application) will destroy the glue completely.

    * Heat. CA will melt at around 105C.

The good things is that they will have used far "too much" and it won't have cured properly and so should be much easier to remove. CA's work best with very thin layers and are really weak with a thick bond line.

All in all this sounds like a complete insurance job anyway, maybe time to get the insurance to pay for some nice new shiny ones!

  12. There are some real horrid people in this world with no respect or concept of right and wrong. I feel so sorry for you as these vans are loved and very personal things.

There were always drunk yobs on my old road and I was always getting up in the night and checking the van when I heard them.

  20. Yeah, some ass threw eggs at my bus last week.
And it's true, cheap fingernail varnish remover with acetone. Fake fingernails are applied with super glue/ removed with acetone.
I would just pull all the locks out if you can and soak them in a jar of it.
It's not all bad. Your locks will be all properly cleaned up afterward. Don't use oil on them when you put them back together. Use powdered graphite.
It's a lovely thing when your locks work as smoothly again as when they were new.
(shameless attempt at optimism, but it's true. )
