Where's my M-Plate gone????

  1. Hi,

I have been looking into M-plates and i have what appears to be a dormobile, and so there is no passenger seat bulkhead, which is where most m plates are. I have looked under the dash on the left next to my fuse box, and no luck there either. Any ideas where to look? i havent started ripping the interior out just yet so not stumbled across it.

  2. On my Westy I also don't have a bulkhead, and there's a plate which is on the little triangular bracing behind the passenger seat, but this isn't the M plate, it's the vehicle serial number plate. The M plate on mine is where you've been looking, next to the fuse box, but you need to get higher up under the dash. Mine's been painted over so is hard to read without taking the instrument panel off.

what year is your Dorrmobil?? From around 78 it moved to just above the fuse box. Before that it was found on the N/S bulkhead. I'm not sure where it would be if that bulkhead is missing.

It was always painted the same colour as the body.

  4. That'll be why I can't find mine then....it's been cunningly hidden :D

  5. looks like my passenger bulkhead was cut out a bit sloppy, so probably not factory done, no mplate behind dash, and also read somewhere that if it was post 76 and australian made (not sure what our history is) they didnt put them on. well we found the paint code from trawling the net, taiga green is also known asL63H which can be known in england as sage green. Why do we have to be different and change the bloody name.lol.

Taiga grun is German for Sage green. It's just translation. Some call it taiga green. I've got chrome yellow or marinogelb. I prefer to call it marino yellow.
