Where is this from ?

  1. Doing some work on the van changed the accelerator cable, new gearshift, had the clocks out so heater controls pulled off and speed O cable disconnected head light switch changed so put all back together and found this on the drivers floor.

I think they go on the ends of the heater cables after they have passed through the lever.

Somewhere on here there is a diagram of how they fit (Ive used it for reference in the past)

    ^ this.
I think they're also used on the levers that push the cold air flaps open.

  4. Yep as above they go on the ends of the eater cables to hold them on the levers. Just push on with the bar thats across them on the outside

Not quite sure if thats a broken version of a spring with integral clip on the end. The final bit is looped back to make a narrower clip that goes onto a flat on a shaft.
I think they were used in a couple of places to hold pressure on a joint.
I think theres also meant to be one under the accelerator pedal in some setups.

Picture here shows two interleaved, lazy photographer git.

  7. They’re also used on the fan shroud flap mechanism. You’d think they’d fall off, but they don’t.

  8. Haven’t had a chance to look yet today but based on where I found it it could be either the accelerator one or the heater control leavers. Started the van up to turn it round in the garage and it sounds like a bag of spanner’s quick look and found this.

missing nut and washer bolt was still there but all of them were loose and the fan belt ring (not sure what it’s called ) that attaches to the fan was moving in and out about 5mm.
